Christopher B. Fischer skillfully employs the calm and assertiveness of his timbre. In oratorio and song, he embraces his listeners with warm sounds. He is particularly valued in ensembles, although as a soloist he always places great importance on performing harmoniously within the interplay of the orchestra, pianist, or other singers. He enjoys a close working relationship with the renowned vocal groups Ensemble 1684 and Vox Luminis . He also maintains a close personal and artistic connection with the artist Ching-Tien Lin.

 

Fischer regularly shares his love for early Baroque and Baroque music with audiences at renowned international festivals such as the Easter Festival in Aix-en-Provence (France), the Early Music Week at Wigmore Hall in London (Great Britain), the Boston Early Music Festival (USA), the Heinrich Schütz Music Festival (Germany), the Leipzig Bach Festival (Germany), and many others, where he also performs as a soloist. Both clear diction and a dramatic, compelling narrative style are of paramount importance to him.

 

With the Lautten Compagney Berlin, he can be seen in various staged productions, including Handel's SUSANNA, Purcell's DIDO AND AENEAS, the successful, historically informed production of Haydn's opera LO SPEZIALE, and an operatic pastiche . Furthermore, in mid-November 2023, he appeared with the same company as the Evangelist and Tenor in a staged performance of Bach's JOHN PASSION at the Hong Kong Singfest (HKG). At the Handel Festival in Halle in June 2025, he sang the role of Lepidus in Reinhard Keiser's opera OCTAVIA.

 

He considers chamber music a central focus of his work. For example, he performed a Brahms program with Helmut Deutsch and Saskia Giorgini at the Lied&Lyrik festival in Bamberg, Germany, in June 2021. He also sings in an intimate duo setting with Janis Neteler , accompanied by guitar and archlute, and gives recitals with pianist Stella Marie Lorenz .

Both personally and musically, he is shaped not only by his studies at the music academies in Karlsruhe and Leipzig, but also by the masterclasses he attended with renowned vocal artists such as Christiane Libor, Berthold Schmid, Daniel Gloger, Liv Solveig Wagner, as well as by his experiences as a freelance singer.
